Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is based on an ancient Ayurvedic healing system practised in India for over 1 000 years. Originally it was almost exclusively massage of the head and hair folicles, although over time it has developed to incorporate massage and manipulation of the arms, shoulders, neck, face and scalp as is seen in the modern embodiment of the therapy.
The treatment uses a range of different massage pressures and rhythms to stimulate three of the major energy centres of the human body, found in and around the head. These are the brow, the crown and the throat. Acting on a physical, mental and subtle level, Indian head massage stimulates these important energy centres, therefore helping to maintain the important balance of energy within the body, which in turn promotes a sense of well being.
Indian Head Massage helps with promoting positive energy, clearing any localised areas of negativity, balancing natural energies and relaxation.
However Indian Head Massage is not just physical;
it works on an emotional level also calming the spirit promoting relaxation and relieving stress.
